About the AYBS C.A.P. Program

Community Assistance Program

AYBS firmly believes that each child who wishes to play baseball or softball should be able to do so regardless of financial circumstances. C.A.P.’s mission is to provide outreach, registration/equipment assistance, support and engagement to current and future youths in Washington Township, enable participation in recreational team sports, and develop the physical, mental, and character building benefits supported by AYBS.


To be eligible for financial assistance through the CAP program, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Player lives in the Washington Township Schools district
  2. Player is between 5 and 12 years old as of May 1st
  3. Player’s legal parent(s)/guardian(s) complete an application, provide a statement of financial hardship, AND receive a signature from a school official, teacher, gym teacher, counselor or case worker
  4. Commit to attend a minimum of 75% of scheduled/required practices and games

Application Process

  1. Complete and sign the CAP Program Application Form, AND obtain signature from the player’s school
  2. Submit the application and required documentation to AYBS, either via email ( or via mail: 7236 Huntington Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240
  3. Applications must be submitted/received by AYBS by the following deadline:
    1. March 6th, 2017 for Spring League
    2. August 15th, 2017 for Fall League
  4. Once all forms have been received, the AYBS CAP Committee will review the requests and reach out to applicants with any questions or additional information needed
  5. If your application is approved, you will be notified within 2 weeks of the application deadline and given instructions on how to register for the league
  6. Although AYBS seeks in good faith to provide assistance through the C.A.P. program, applications and participants will be evaluated on a case by case basis, and there is no guarantee that ALL applicants will be accepted.

Terms and Conditions

If the financial assistance request is approved, the following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Assistance coverage is for one calendar year only (i.e. covers both spring and fall seasons, as applicable). A new application must be submitted/approved each new calendar year.
  2. Parents/legal guardians MUST be able to provide transportation for the player to and from practices, games and events. While AYBS and its coaches can assist with transportation coordination as needed, it is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to be accountable for making sure the players is present and on time for all practices/games/events.
  3. The player must meet all residence and proof of age requirements and make every effort to be present for at least 75% of all practices and games.
  4. In addition to the CAP Program Application, a registration form must be completed for the player online at ( – providing essential details including address, contact information, and medical authorization
  5. The player and parents/guardians will agree to follow ALL AYBS league policies, including the league conduct and participation policy.
